6 Best SamCart Alternatives for Checkout-First Sellers (2026)

By MoveToWhopUpdated 11 min readPricing verified

MoveToWhop is independent and not affiliated with Whop, Inc. or any platform we cover. We may earn a referral commission from Whop when you create a Whop through our links. It never costs you anything, and it's how we keep migrations free. We don't earn commissions from the other platforms on this page. How we make money

Quick answer

The best SamCart alternatives in 2026 are Whop (no plan fee and the lowest rate on one-time sales), Systeme.io (a free plan with funnels and email), ThriveCart (bumps and upsells from $47 a month), Stripe Payment Links (a bare checkout), Kartra (email, pages and checkout) and ClickFunnels (multi-step funnels). In our $10,000-a-month example with $49 memberships, Whop costs about $4,575 a year and SamCart Core $5,163.

Quick picks

Match your situation to a pick, then jump to that platform's section.

  • Lowest cost on one-time sales: Whop
  • Lowest fixed cost, with a free plan: Systeme.io
  • Bumps and upsells on the cheapest paid plan: ThriveCart Standard ($47 a month)
  • A bare checkout on a Stripe account you own: Stripe Payment Links
  • Email, SMS, pages and checkout in one login: Kartra
  • Multi-step funnels with a CRM: ClickFunnels
  • Payment routing across several processors: staying on SamCart Pro

Whop sits at the top for two reasons. It costs the least here at $1,000 a month, and at $10,000 too if Stripe's Billing fee applies to Systeme.io and ThriveCart subscriptions. It's also where our free migration tool sends you. We earn a commission from Whop and nothing from the other platforms on this list.

Yearly cost at three revenue levels

At $10,000 a month, Systeme.io's $17 plan comes out lowest on paper, Whop second and SamCart Pro highest. One undocumented fee can flip that order, as explained under the table. Each platform is priced on its entry paid plan, billed monthly, selling a $49 monthly membership.

Prices as of October 2026, from each company's public pricing and help pages. Plans change, so check before you buy.

Option and planAt $1,000 a monthAt $10,000At $50,000
Whop (pay per sale)$457 a year$4,575$22,873
Systeme.io (Startup, $17)$625$4,419$21,277
ThriveCart (Standard, $47)$985$4,779$21,637
Stripe Payment Links (no plan)$505$5,055$25,273
Kartra (Starter, $119)$1,849$5,643$22,501
ClickFunnels (Launch, $97)$1,633$5,859$24,637
SamCart Core ($79), for comparison$1,369$5,163$22,021
SamCart Pro ($199), for comparison$2,809$6,603$23,461

We multiplied a month's cost by 12, where a month is the plan price, plus the fee rate times revenue, plus 30¢ for each $49 charge. US cards only; add-ons, taxes, payouts and currency conversion are left out. Rates used: Whop 3.2% (2.7% card processing and 0.5% billing), SamPay, Systeme.io, ThriveCart and Kartra 2.9% (the standard Stripe card rate), ClickFunnels 3.3% (Stripe plus 0.4% Invoicing on subscription charges) and Stripe Payment Links 3.6% (Stripe plus 0.7% Billing).

Three things move the order:

  • Systeme.io and ThriveCart don't say whether Stripe's 0.7% Billing fee applies to their subscriptions. If it does, add $84, $840 and $4,200 a year to each, and Whop becomes the cheapest option here at $1,000 and $10,000 a month.
  • If you mostly sell one-time products, Whop's 2.7% + 30¢ beats the 2.9% + 30¢ everyone else pays, so Whop is cheapest at all three levels.
  • At $50,000 a month in subscriptions, the plans paying a 2.9% card rate (Systeme.io, ThriveCart, SamCart Core and Kartra Starter) all cost less than Whop's 3.2%, before any Billing fee.

Plug your own price, volume and one-time share into the creator fee calculator.

Why sellers look for SamCart alternatives

The reasons we found come back to plan changes and what the cheaper plan leaves out.

  • SamCart changed its pricing model twice in about 15 months: from tiered plans to a single revenue-based plan in March 2025, then to Core ($79) and Pro ($199) in June 2026. Bumps, one-click upsells, split testing, affiliates, the API and extra processors now sit on Pro.
  • SamCart's help center says cancelling a legacy plan forfeits its pricing permanently, so sellers on old plans can't pause and come back.
  • SamCart's tax calculation costs an extra 0.5% (Core) or 0.35% (Pro), and filing stays your job.
  • Individual Trustpilot reviews from 2026 describe a card being charged for months after cancelling (June) and promised features not showing up in the dashboard (April). These are single accounts, not a pattern we can measure.
  • SamCart's plans don't list a community feature, so course sellers who want discussion add another tool.

How we picked and ordered these options

Every option here can run a SamCart seller's checkout. We compared them on four things: the checkout tools SamCart sellers use (one-time and subscription pricing, bumps, upsells, coupons, affiliates), total cost at three revenue levels, whose account holds the cards, and how hard it is to move subscribers. Below Whop, options are sorted by what a year costs at $10,000 a month.

We checked every price, fee and feature against each company's own pricing pages, help centers and changelogs on October 2 and 3, 2026 (links at the bottom). We didn't open paid accounts to test them. The ThriveCart vs SamCart page we cite is ThriveCart's own marketing, so we used it only for ThriveCart's features.

1. Whop: best for checkout and delivery in one place

Whop sells memberships, courses, downloads and paid community access through checkout links, a store page or a checkout embedded in your own site, and delivers them through apps on the same product: Courses, Chat, Forums, Events and Discord or Telegram access.

It costs nothing monthly. A US card sale costs 2.7% + 30¢, subscription charges add 0.5%, and international cards add 1.5%. In our table, a year costs $457, $4,575 and $22,873 at the three revenue levels.

What it does well:

  • It's the cheapest option here for one-time sales at every level we modeled.
  • Since May 2025 you can offer a paid add-on at checkout, after checkout or inside the whop.
  • Its optional tax service collects tax at checkout for 2% per transaction, and on one setting also files it for US, EU and UK sales.

What to watch:

  • A brand-new account can't take more than $2,500 in one checkout until Whop approves a higher limit, and part of its balance may be held in reserve.
  • Payments always go through Whop's own processing, so connecting your own Stripe or routing between processors isn't an option.
  • Financing (Klarna, Afterpay and others) needs $30,000 in sales from 10 or more customers over 90 days, and costs 15% per financed sale.

Switching from SamCart: subscribers billed through a Stripe account you own can transfer through Whop Migrations with their billing dates unchanged. SamPay and PayPal subscribers sign up again on a trial timed to their next rebill. Our SamCart to Whop migration plan covers each step, and the free wizard rebuilds your products from SamCart's exports.

Pick Whop if your products are courses, memberships or a paid community, you want delivery and checkout together, and you mostly sell one-time products or stay under about $26,000 a month in subscriptions.

2. Systeme.io: best for the lowest fixed cost

Systeme.io is a budget all-in-one platform: funnels, email, courses, communities, a blog and a website builder on every plan, including a free one.

The Free plan covers 3 funnels, 1 course and 2,000 contacts. Startup costs $17 a month, Webinar $47 and Unlimited $97, or roughly 17% less billed yearly. Systeme.io takes no transaction fee on any plan, so you pay your gateway, such as Stripe at 2.9% + 30¢. On Startup, a year costs $625, $4,419 and $21,277.

What it does well:

  • Order bumps and one-click upsells are built into its funnels; Systeme.io says buyers take an upsell without re-entering card details.
  • The free plan is enough to test a small offer.
  • Yearly plans and Unlimited come with a free migration service that brings over contacts, funnel pages, courses and emails.

What to watch:

  • Lower tiers have hard caps: Startup allows 10 funnels and 5 courses.
  • Support is by email only.
  • It adds EU and UK VAT at checkout but documents no US sales tax tool, and you file everything yourself.

Switching from SamCart: you rebuild checkouts and products in Systeme.io's funnel builder, or ask for the free migration on a qualifying plan. SamPay subscribers sign up again wherever you go.

Choose Systeme.io if you want funnels, email and a course on one low bill and can live with its caps.

3. ThriveCart: best for bumps and upsells on a budget

ThriveCart is the closest like-for-like swap: a checkout platform with order bumps, one-click upsells and downsells, affiliates and course hosting through ThriveCart Academy. It built its name on a one-time lifetime license and now sells monthly plans too.

Standard costs $47 a month ($37 billed yearly) and Pro+ costs $87 ($67 yearly), with a 30-day free trial. ThriveCart says it takes no platform fee; you pay your Stripe or PayPal rates. On Standard, a year costs $985, $4,779 and $21,637.

What it does well:

  • Order bumps and upsells come with the $47 Standard plan, where SamCart needs the $199 Pro plan.
  • The lifetime license is still on sale for sellers who'd rather pay once.
  • It connects to Stripe, PayPal and Authorize.net, with buy now, pay later options.

What to watch:

  • Affiliate management, multiple order bumps and advanced subscription tools need Pro+.
  • Advanced course features (Learn+) cost $195 on top.
  • You're the merchant on your own processor, so tax and disputes are your job.

Switching from SamCart: you rebuild products, checkouts, bumps and upsells by hand. Subscribers on your own Stripe keep their cards there, but we found nothing in ThriveCart's materials about taking over subscriptions SamCart created, so ask before you count on it.

Choose ThriveCart if you want order bumps and upsells for about a quarter of SamCart Pro's price, and you're happy running payments through your own processor.

Stripe Payment Links gives you a hosted checkout page for any product or subscription, straight from your Stripe Dashboard, with no code and no platform in between.

There's no monthly fee. US cards cost 2.9% + 30¢, and Stripe Billing adds 0.7% on subscription charges. A year costs $505, $5,055 and $25,273 in our table, the most at $50,000 because of that Billing fee.

What it does well:

  • Your Stripe account, your customers and your card data, portable to another processor later.
  • Subscriptions SamCart created in your own Stripe keep billing there after you close SamCart, according to SamCart's help center.
  • Payment Links work for one-time prices and subscriptions without writing any code.

What to watch:

  • It delivers nothing. You need another tool for courses, communities or member access.
  • The 0.7% Billing fee applies to every subscription charge.
  • You're the merchant, so tax registration, filing and disputes are yours.

Switching from SamCart: if your subscribers already sit in your own Stripe, there's nothing to move. SamPay and PayPal subscribers sign up again.

Choose Stripe Payment Links if you deliver your product somewhere else and only need payments. Our Whop vs Stripe comparison runs the fee math for subscriptions.

5. Kartra: best for email, pages and checkout together

Kartra combines pages, funnels, checkouts, email and SMS, memberships, calendars, webinars and a helpdesk in one account.

The $59 Essentials plan holds 500 contacts and charges 5% on sales. Starter ($119), Growth ($229) and Professional ($549) take no fee and raise the contact cap to 2,500, 12,500 and 25,000. Yearly billing ranges from $52 to $429 a month. On Starter, a year costs $1,849, $5,643 and $22,501.

What it does well:

  • Checkouts support bump offers, upsells and one-click express checkout.
  • Email and SMS sends are unlimited from Starter up.
  • It works with processors you own: Stripe, PayPal, Braintree, Square or Authorize.net.

What to watch:

  • Pass your plan's contact cap and Kartra upgrades you automatically, with a mid-cycle fee.
  • Essentials' 5% fee is billed every month, on sales and rebills.
  • Kartra can't import active subscriptions from another system, and it runs billing itself, which makes leaving it later just as hard.

Switching from SamCart: every subscriber completes a new Kartra checkout, by Kartra's own rules. Our Kartra to Whop guide shows the reverse trip, if you ever need it.

Choose Kartra if email and SMS marketing are central to your sales and your list fits its contact caps.

6. ClickFunnels: best for multi-step funnels

ClickFunnels is a funnel builder with checkouts, order bumps, one-click upsell and downsell pages, email, a CRM, courses and communities.

Launch costs $97 a month, Scale $197 and Optimize $297, or $81, $164 and $248 billed yearly. ClickFunnels takes no cut. On Stripe you pay 2.9% + 30¢ plus 0.4% Invoicing on subscription charges. On Launch, a year costs $1,633, $5,859 and $24,637.

What it does well:

  • One-click upsell and downsell pages and order bumps are built into its funnel steps.
  • Launch includes 10,000 contacts and 50,000 emails a month.
  • Its Stripe Product Import (August 2026) brings in products and prices you already sell on Stripe.

What to watch:

  • Automations and the API start on Scale, and the Affiliate Center on Optimize.
  • Cancelling deactivates your funnels, and pausing to keep them costs $17 a month with everything offline.
  • Stripe Invoicing adds 0.4% to every subscription charge.

Switching from SamCart: products can come across through Stripe Product Import if they're in your own Stripe, but customers and subscriptions don't. Our ClickFunnels alternatives page covers what else competes in this space.

Choose ClickFunnels if your sales run through multi-step funnels and you want email and a CRM in the same plan.

When SamCart is still the better choice

SamCart is the better pick if your business relies on its payment options, its pricing at your volume or the plan you're grandfathered on.

  • You split payments between Stripe, Braintree, Authorize.net or Easy Pay Direct with Pro's routing, or need a processor of your choosing to hold the card data.
  • You sell high-ticket offers with buy now, pay later. Through SamPay or Stripe, SamCart offers Klarna at 5.99% + 30¢ and Affirm or Afterpay at 6% + 30¢, with Affirm orders up to $30,000. Whop starts new accounts at $2,500 per checkout and charges 15% on financed sales after approval.
  • Your revenue is mostly subscriptions above about $26,000 a month, where SamCart Core's flat 2.9% beats Whop's 3.2% on renewals.
  • You're on a legacy plan whose price you'd lose for good by cancelling.
  • Most of your subscribers pay through SamPay, and asking them all to check out again would cost more than you'd save.

Before leaving over price alone, compare yearly billing, which cuts $240 a year off Core and $600 off Pro.

How to move off SamCart

Wherever you go, the SamCart side is the same: export orders and subscriptions within 15 minutes of each email, sort subscribers by processor, settle payment plans before you close the account, and decide where your Stripe subscriptions will bill from, since SamCart says they keep billing in Stripe after you leave.

If you choose Whop, our free migration wizard reads SamCart's exports, recreates your products and sets up claim links and re-subscribe trials. For the billing side on any platform, our guide to transferring paid subscriptions explains which members can keep their cards and which must sign up again.

Frequently asked questions

What is the cheapest alternative to SamCart?

It depends on what you sell. For one-time products, Whop is cheapest at all three revenue levels we modeled, because its 2.7% + 30¢ undercuts the 2.9% + 30¢ the others pay through Stripe, with no plan fee. For subscriptions, Systeme.io's free and $17 plans come in lower on paper, but only if Stripe's 0.7% Billing fee doesn't apply.

Is ThriveCart cheaper than SamCart?

At most volumes, yes. ThriveCart Standard costs $47 a month and includes order bumps and upsells, which SamCart reserves for its $199 Pro plan. In our $10,000-a-month example a year costs about $4,779 on ThriveCart Standard, $5,163 on SamCart Core and $6,603 on SamCart Pro. ThriveCart also still sells a one-time lifetime license.

Which SamCart alternatives have order bumps and one-click upsells?

ThriveCart includes bumps and upsells on Standard, and Systeme.io's funnel builder has both, with upsells bought without re-entering card details. ClickFunnels has order bumps plus one-click upsell and downsell pages, and Kartra has bump offers and one-click express checkouts. Whop added upsells in May 2025, offered at checkout, after checkout or inside the whop.

Can I move SamCart subscribers without asking for new card details?

Only if they're billed through a Stripe account you own. Those are real Stripe subscriptions, so Whop Migrations can carry them over on their existing billing dates, or they can keep billing in Stripe after you close SamCart. SamPay subscribers sit in a Stripe account SamCart manages, and PayPal, Braintree or Authorize.net subscribers aren't in Stripe at all, so they sign up again.

Is there a free alternative to SamCart?

Two cost nothing up front. Systeme.io's free plan includes 3 funnels, 1 course and 2,000 contacts with no transaction fee, so you pay only your gateway. Whop charges no monthly fee and takes 2.7% + 30¢ per US card sale, plus 0.5% on subscriptions. Stripe Payment Links is free too, but it's only a checkout.

Which SamCart alternative handles sales tax for me?

Whop can, for a fee: its Tax Service costs 2% per transaction, and on one of its two settings Whop both collects and files tax for US, EU and UK sales. Systeme.io adds EU and UK VAT at checkout but leaves filing to you. ThriveCart, Kartra, ClickFunnels and Stripe Payment Links run on your own processor account, so you're the seller of record and responsible for filing.
