Move from LaunchPass to Whop: What Transfers and How to Switch

By MoveToWhopUpdated 11 min readPricing verified

MoveToWhop is independent and not affiliated with Whop, Inc. or any platform we cover. We may earn a referral commission from Whop when you create a Whop through our links. It never costs you anything, and it's how we keep migrations free. How we make money

Quick answer

Most LaunchPass members can move to Whop without re-entering a card. LaunchPass bills through your own Stripe account, so Whop Migrations can move active and trialing card subscriptions of $1 or more and keep each price and renewal date. Members then link Discord or Telegram on Whop to get their role. Remove the LaunchPass bot first: it removes members whose subscriptions cancel, and Whop schedules every migrated Stripe subscription to cancel.

What moves

LaunchPass to Whop at a glance

This is what the free migration tool does for LaunchPass today. Rows marked Guided or From your export need some input from you: a confirmation in the wizard or the file LaunchPass gives you.

  • Products & pricing

    Moves

You confirm your products and prices in the wizard (prefilled where we can). We create matching Whop products and pricing plans through Whop's official API.

  • Courses

    N/A

LaunchPass doesn't have this, so there's nothing to move.

  • Members

    From export

Upload the member export from LaunchPass. We clean it and set up a hidden "Existing members" option on Whop: free claim links for one-time buyers, and active card subscriptions move with Whop's own Stripe migration (see Paying subscribers below). Whop's API can't add members directly, so members claim access from the link you send.

  • Community

    Moves

We create Whop Forums and Chat with a pinned welcome post. Old posts and comments don't move, because Whop's API would post them as you, dated today.

  • Paying subscribers

    Moves

LaunchPass bills through your own Stripe account, so Whop's Stripe migration can move active card subscriptions. Members then link their Discord or Telegram on Whop.

Guided:
you confirm or paste it in the wizard, and we create it on Whop.
From your export:
imported from the export file LaunchPass gives you.

What moves from LaunchPass to Whop

Your card subscribers, your offers and your member list can all come across. Your Discord server or Telegram group stays where it is; what changes is the system that charges members and hands out access.

Paying subscribers

LaunchPass doesn't hold your money. Its help center says member payments go straight into your own Stripe account, and that's where it tells you to find your active paying members (Stripe Customers, filtered by subscription status). Because the subscriptions live in your Stripe, Whop's own migration tool can read them.

Whop Migrations (Whop dashboard, Settings, then Migrations) moves active and trialing Stripe subscriptions paid by credit or debit card, as long as each one is at least $1 and the Stripe customer has an email address. Whop says it keeps every subscription's amount and renewal date, transfers the card through a PCI-compliant token transfer, and schedules the old Stripe subscription to cancel at the end of the period the member already paid for. Whop launched the tool on June 17, 2026. Our Stripe to Whop walkthrough covers the scan and its CSV report screen by screen.

The scan skips four groups, and you'll handle them separately:

  • Past-due, canceled and expired subscriptions.
  • Members paying by bank debit (ACH or SEPA), Stripe Link or any other non-card method.
  • Stripe customers with no email address on file.
  • Anyone who paid you in crypto, because those payments aren't Stripe card subscriptions.

For those members, use the re-subscribe approach in our subscription migration guide: a hidden plan with a free trial that runs until their paid LaunchPass time is used up, so they enter a card once and aren't charged twice for the same month.

Free, lifetime and one-time members

Members on a free LaunchPass offer, or who paid a one-time price, have no subscription to move. They come over from your LaunchPass export instead. The free migration tool reads that file and creates a hidden "Existing members" option on Whop with free claim links. Whop's API can't add members to a product directly, so each person claims access with their own Whop account.

Offers and prices

Each LaunchPass page becomes a Whop product with a matching plan. You confirm names, prices and billing intervals in the wizard, and it creates them through Whop's official API. Whop's migration announcement covers subscriptions and payment tokens, not page settings, so recreate trial lengths and coupon codes on the new plans yourself.

Your Discord, Telegram or Slack community

The community itself doesn't move. You map each offer to the Discord role or Telegram group it grants, connect Whop's Discord or Telegram app, and members link their own account on Whop to get access.

Slack is the exception. LaunchPass supports Slack, but Whop's app directory returned no Slack app when we checked on October 3, 2026, so a Slack community needs a new home on Discord, Telegram or Whop's own Chat. LaunchPass has no course feature, so there's nothing to move on that front.

The switch order that keeps everyone in the server

Remove the LaunchPass bot before you start Whop's migration, not after. The two systems react to the same event in opposite directions, and the bot reacts within minutes.

  • LaunchPass removes members when their subscription is cancelled. On Discord the default is to kick them from the server, which its help center says happens "usually within a few minutes"; typing dontKickOnCancel in the #launchpass channel switches it to removing only the paid role. On Telegram, LaunchPass says a bot removal counts as a ban, so that person can't rejoin through an invite link until you unban them.
  • Whop Migrations marks every migrated Stripe subscription to cancel at the end of its current period.

LaunchPass's help center also says members can keep access until their billing period ends, depending on your settings. We couldn't confirm whether the bot acts when a subscription is scheduled to cancel or only when it actually ends, and your paying members are the wrong place to find out. With the bot gone, nobody loses a role automatically. The worst case is that someone keeps the old role longer than they should, which you clean up by hand at the end.

Two details make the cleanup easier. First, both bots want the top spot: LaunchPass asks for its role at the top of your role list with Administrator turned on, and Whop asks the same for its Whop Bot role. Once the LaunchPass bot is gone, drag Whop Bot to the top and click Refetch roles in the Whop app. Second, give Whop a new role (for example "Members") with the same channel permissions as the old LaunchPass role. At the end you delete the old role, and anyone who never linked their account on Whop loses access in one step.

How the switch works, step by step

  1. Export your members from LaunchPass: Settings, then Email & Social Marketing, then Download. Pick Download rather than Download grouped, so you get one row per membership with the offer named.
  2. Check the Stripe account LaunchPass uses. Make sure you can log in with your own credentials, and note who pays by bank debit or Link and who's past due. If LaunchPass set up and manages your Stripe for you, contact LaunchPass support before anything else.
  3. Build the Whop side. Run your export through the migration tool to create matching products and plans, then add Whop's Discord or Telegram app and choose the role or group each plan gives access to. Our guide to setting up a paid Discord server on Whop walks through the bot and role screens.
  4. Close new signups on LaunchPass and point your join links at your Whop checkout, so nobody new lands in Stripe mid-move.
  5. Email members a few days before the migration (template below).
  6. Remove the LaunchPass bot from your Discord server, and remove @Launchpass_bot or its Ban Users permission from your Telegram group or channel.
  7. Run Whop Migrations: connect your Stripe keys, add the unique Whop email to your Stripe team with the "Data migration specialist" role, review the preview scan, exclude anyone who already bought on Whop, start the migration and download the CSV report.
  8. Send everyone the scan skipped a free claim link (free and lifetime members) or a checkout link with a trial (bank-debit, crypto and past-due members).
  9. Once every migrated member has renewed on Whop, delete the old LaunchPass role and wind LaunchPass down.

How to keep members and avoid double billing

Whop Migrations is designed so nobody pays twice: the old Stripe subscription stops at the end of the period the member already paid for, and Whop's first charge lands on that same renewal date. Double charges come from things you run alongside it.

  • Don't send a Whop checkout link to someone who was also migrated, or they'll end up with two Whop memberships. Build your "skipped" list from the CSV report and send links only to that list.
  • Exclude anyone who already bought on Whop. The preview scan lets you leave out subscriptions by email or Stripe ID.
  • Don't cancel the Stripe subscriptions yourself beforehand. Canceled subscriptions are skipped, so those members would have to start over.
  • Ask members not to change their card mid-move. Whop says payment-method updates made after it starts the transfer aren't included.
  • Don't count on cancelling LaunchPass to stop billing. Its help center says members' subscriptions continue in Stripe after you leave, and Stripe's docs say subscriptions created by a connected platform keep running after you disconnect it, with the platform's application fee still collected.

Stripe emails members a cancellation notice for the old subscription, and Whop sends billing emails from then on. Warn people before they see either, or you'll get a wave of "did I just lose access?" messages.

Email template for your LaunchPass members

Subject: [Community name] is moving to Whop on [date]. Your price and billing date stay the same.

Hi [first name],

On [date] we're moving [community name] from LaunchPass to Whop. You'll keep paying [price] on your usual billing date, on the same card.

You'll get an email from Stripe saying your old subscription will cancel at the end of this period. That's expected: your membership continues on Whop, and Whop bills you from your next payment date.

To keep your Discord access:

  1. Sign in to Whop at [link] with the email you use for [community name].
  2. Connect your Discord account in your Whop settings, open [community name], choose the Discord app and press Claim Access.

Please don't update your card until after [date]. If you pay by bank transfer or crypto, we'll send you a separate link to rejoin with your remaining time free.

Questions? Just reply.

For Telegram members, swap step 2 for "open [community name] and claim access in the Telegram app." More versions, including a reminder and a last call, are in our migration announcement templates.

LaunchPass vs Whop fees at your revenue

Under each company's published fees, Whop costs less at every revenue level we checked: $61 a month less at $1,000 and $1,629 less at $50,000. If the 3% fee mentioned on Whop's Discord and Telegram app listings applies to you, the gap shrinks to $31 and $129.

Prices as of October 2026, from each company's public pricing and help pages. Sources at the end of this page.

Monthly revenueMembers at $25/moLaunchPass PremiumWhop (published fee schedule)Whop if the 3% app fee applies
$1,00040$105$44$74
$10,000400$789$440$740
$50,0002,000$3,829$2,200$3,700

How we calculated it, using US cards, monthly $25 subscriptions, and no add-ons, payout fees or currency conversion:

  • LaunchPass Premium = $29 + revenue × (3.5% LaunchPass fee + 2.9% Stripe) + $0.30 × number of payments.
  • Whop = revenue × (2.7% card processing + 0.5% subscription billing) + $0.30 × number of payments.

About that 3%: Whop's fee page lists no Discord or Telegram fee (checked October 3, 2026), and an archived copy from December 2025 shows the old 3% charge on purchases with Discord, Telegram or TradingView automations, which had dropped off the page by February 2026. The App Store listings for Whop's Discord and Telegram apps still say adding either app to a product brings a 3% fee on that product's payments. We couldn't confirm which is current, so the table shows both. Check the fee lines on your first Whop renewal.

A few costs sit outside the table. Whop's Migrations announcement lists payment orchestration at 0.8% as an optional extra, and Whop charges $2.50 per next-day ACH payout. On the LaunchPass side, its fee examples leave out Stripe Billing, which Stripe prices at 0.7% of billing volume on pay-as-you-go; if your Stripe invoices show it, LaunchPass costs you 0.7% more than the table says. Plug in your own price and member count with the Whop fee calculator, and see the full Whop fee breakdown for payouts and disputes. This page explains published fees. It isn't financial or tax advice.

What you'll rebuild by hand

These parts of a LaunchPass setup don't move automatically, though none of them are hard:

  • Page copy and images. The wizard creates the products; rewrite each LaunchPass page's sales copy on its Whop product page.
  • Trials and coupons. Whop supports free trials on recurring plans only, and discount codes come back as Whop promo codes.
  • The embeddable signup widget on your website. Replace it with your Whop checkout link.
  • Affiliates. LaunchPass tracks affiliates through Rewardful, which bills separately. Whop has its own affiliate program, so re-invite partners and set their rates there.
  • Zapier automations. LaunchPass's Zapier guide works through Stripe events. Rebuild those zaps on Whop's Zapier integration.
  • Multi-tier access. Give each LaunchPass tier its own Whop plan and its own Discord role or Telegram group.
  • Slack channels. Pick Discord, Telegram or Whop Chat and move the conversation before billing moves.

Should you switch from LaunchPass to Whop?

Switch if fees are the main thing LaunchPass costs you, or if you want to sell more than chat access. Stay if your setup depends on Slack or on every payment landing in your own Stripe account.

Switching makes sense if:

  • You pay the $29 plan plus 3.5% and bring in more than a few hundred dollars a month, where the table above shows a real gap.
  • You want courses, files, events or Whop's own chat on the same membership as your Discord role.
  • Your members ask for PayPal or other payment methods that LaunchPass's Stripe-only checkout doesn't offer.

Stay on LaunchPass if:

  • Your community runs on Slack.
  • You want payments to settle in your own Stripe balance on your own payout schedule. Whop runs everything through Whop Payments, and its docs say new or higher-risk accounts can have part of their balance held in reserve, for example 10% for 90 days.
  • Your group is small enough that the savings don't justify asking every member to link a new account.

After the move: launch checklist

  • Buy your own product with a second account, link Discord on Whop and confirm the role appears.
  • Open a migrated member in Whop and check that the next billing date matches their old Stripe renewal.
  • In Stripe, spot-check that migrated subscriptions show as cancelling at period end.
  • Update every link: social bios, your website, pinned Discord and Telegram posts, and email sequences.
  • Add a Whop payout method and finish identity verification before your biggest renewal day.
  • Read the fee lines on the first few Whop renewals, including whether a 3% app fee shows up.
  • After the last old period ends, delete the old LaunchPass role, then downgrade or close LaunchPass. Do this with signups closed: LaunchPass's help center says new signups after a downgrade are charged 12.5%.
  • Cancel any LaunchPass-created subscription still left in Stripe. Disconnecting LaunchPass won't stop it, and LaunchPass would keep collecting its fee.

Frequently asked questions

Will my LaunchPass members have to re-enter their card on Whop?

Most won't. Whop Migrations copies the card token for every active or trialing Stripe card subscription of $1 or more whose customer has an email, and it keeps the renewal date. Members paying by bank debit, Stripe Link or crypto, plus anyone past due, aren't eligible and need to check out on Whop. Free and lifetime members claim access with a free link instead.

Does cancelling LaunchPass stop my members' payments?

No. LaunchPass's help center says members' subscriptions keep running in your Stripe account after you cancel or downgrade, and you keep getting paid until each member cancels. Only cancelling the subscription in Stripe, or letting Whop Migrations schedule it to end at period end, stops the charges. Stripe's docs add that disconnecting a platform doesn't cancel the subscriptions it created.

What if LaunchPass manages my Stripe account for me?

Sort out access before you pick a date. Whop Migrations needs your Stripe publishable and secret keys and a Whop email added to your Stripe team, which you can't do without your own login. LaunchPass's help center tells creators who don't have their own Stripe to contact support@launchpass.com, so start there and ask how to get full access to the account.

Do I keep paying LaunchPass's 3.5% after moving to Whop?

Only on charges that run through Stripe before the switch. After Whop Migrations runs, each old subscription ends when its paid period ends and the renewal is billed by Whop, so LaunchPass's application fee stops with it. Any subscription you leave behind in Stripe keeps paying LaunchPass its fee, even after you disconnect LaunchPass, so cancel or migrate every one.

How do Telegram members get back into the group after the switch?

They claim access in Whop's Telegram app, and the Whop bot adds them to the groups or channels attached to your product. Whop's docs describe Telegram access as invite-based. If LaunchPass's bot removed someone earlier, Telegram treats that as a ban, so unban them in the group's Removed Users list before they try to rejoin through Whop.

Can I move a few members first as a test?

Yes. The preview scan lets you exclude subscriptions by email or Stripe ID, so you can migrate a handful of members you've briefed, check their Whop memberships and Discord roles, then run the migration again for everyone else. Whop says subscriptions it already migrated are detected and skipped, so the second run shouldn't create duplicates.

Does Whop support Slack the way LaunchPass does?

Not that we could find. Whop's app directory lists Discord and Telegram apps but returned no Slack app when we checked on October 3, 2026. If your LaunchPass community lives on Slack, move it to Discord, Telegram or Whop's own Chat before you migrate billing, and tell members where the new space is before their first Whop renewal.
